Respect & The Celebration of Being a Woman

It suddenly came to mind about the word respect and whether women actually take it seriously these days. R.E.S.P.E.C.T. seems like a distant lament as sung by Aretha Franklin herself. It all triggered when I was watching Dr Dre & Snoop Dogg's ''Still''. Watching scantilly clad women, dancing provocatively. Take a look yourself:

I think these women look like they are enjoying themselves. I may have thought about doing the same thing if I was paid as much as they were or even still to be filmed in a clip that is quite famous & quite legendary to the followers of hip hop, rap and R'n'B. I asked the question myself ''Don't you think when we get old that we'll look back and remember these songs like our folks talk about Cliff Richard and The Beatles and our will our kids give us a strange look?'' Do you think that this sort of behaviour will still go on? Hey, women have been behaving this way for a long time. My point is, just because a woman behaves this way does not mean she is disrepecting herself. It might well be a celebration of being a woman. Flaunting what she has. Embracing her beauty. I once was someone who thought that someone in clips like this was a disgrace or shameful, but looking at it from a different perspective made me see that this could be a celebration of being a woman.

I Kissed a Girl

''I kissed a girl and I liked it'' - quote Katy Perry. It made me think the other day that it's not all about a beautiful woman with a masculine man. My beautiful self could be with another beautiful being. Then I started flicking the pages of magazines awgling at who I thought was pretty and who I could 'do'' - pretty silly but true, hey that rhymes - hahahahahahahahahahaha. Then I thought I would offend my lovely partner of almost 6 years, so my fantasy came to a halt. This is the beginning of a beautiful story that I hope you all enjoy and that you all become attached to, almost obsessed with and start clicking in for updates. Welcome to the celebration of being a woman, being a zoli femme as some of you may know it as. It doesn't matter whether you are not the catwalk or magazine size zero, you're not tall like a model, you don't have amazing long hair and you don't think you are amazingly pretty. Who cares? Beauty I believe what many others have quoted before does come from within, however I believe it's about how you feel. It's about how you wear it. It's about confidence. Stay tuned for more.........
